Getting started

How do I sign in?

Tap Sign in with Google on the welcome screen. Signing in lets you back up your data and share a baby with other caregivers.

Prefer not to create an account? Tap Continue without an account to use the app in local mode. Everything stays on your device, but sharing with caregivers and cloud backup are not available. You can leave local mode at any time from Settings → Account.

How do I add a baby, or a pregnancy?

Tap the ⊕ button (or open the menu) and choose to add a baby. Give them a name, birth date and a theme colour. Each baby has their own timeline, reminders and colour theme, and you can switch between babies from the Home screen.

If the baby isn't born yet, choose the expecting phase to track pregnancy activities such as fetal movement, contractions, Braxton Hicks and pregnancy weight.

Have a backup file from before? During setup, choose Restore existing baby data and pick the exported .json file.

How do I log an activity?

On the Home screen, tap the add button and pick an activity type — for example breastfeed, bottle, breast pump, diaper, sleep, tummy time, medicine, temperature or weight. Fill in the details, adjust the time if needed, add an optional note, and save.

To change or delete an entry, tap it on the timeline. The Insights tab charts your history and Search lets you find past entries by day or by activity.

How do timers work?

For timed activities such as sleep, breastfeeding or pumping, switch the log sheet to Timer and start it. Breastfeeding and pumping have a separate timer for each side.

You can close the sheet while it runs — the timer keeps going, even if you leave the app, and shows as in progress on the Home screen. Tap the card to return to it, then pause, resume, save or discard. Each baby can have up to 3 timers running at once.

Timers are kept on the device that started them, so they don't appear on other caregivers' phones until the entry is saved.

What are Memories?

Memories is a scrapbook for milestones and special moments. Open it from the button at the top of the Home screen, then tap add to write a memory, set its date and attach a photo. You can search your memories, and save or share any memory as an image.

Memories are shared with everyone who has access to the baby, just like activities.

Can I create my own activity types, or hide the ones I don't use?

Yes. Open a baby's activity list to add custom types (choose an icon, a colour, and whether it records an amount, a duration, a body-map spot, or a note), rename built-in types, mark favourites, and hide types you never use.

How do I change units, language, week start or dark mode?

Open Settings → Preferences. You can choose:

  • Units — weight (kg / lb), height (cm / in), volume (ml / oz) and temperature (°C / °F)
  • Week start — local default, Saturday, Sunday or Monday
  • Language
  • Appearance — system default, light or dark
  • Activity list style — detailed or compact

Each baby's colour theme (Peach, Sky, Sage, Lilac, Rose or Butter) is set on their profile.

Sharing & caretakers

How do I share a baby with my partner or a babysitter?
  1. A Parent opens the baby's profile, goes to Caretakers & roles, and taps Create invite code.
  2. Send the code to the other person.
  3. They sign in, tap ⊕ (or the menu), choose Join Baby, and enter the code. New users can also enter it during setup.

An invite code works for 7 days. A Parent can revoke it at any time to stop new people joining. Sharing requires a signed-in account on both devices.

What can each role do?
  • Parent — can add, edit and delete entries, manage reminders, and invite or remove people. A baby can have more than one Parent.
  • Caretaker — can add, edit and delete entries.
  • Viewer — read-only access.

Anyone who joins with an invite code starts as a viewer until a Parent changes their role, so only share codes with people you trust.

How do I stop sharing or leave a shared baby?

A Parent can remove people or change their role from the baby profile's Caretakers & roles page. If you were invited, you can use Leave baby on that baby's profile — you'll lose access to their records, and a Parent can re-invite you later.

Reminders & widgets

How do reminders work?

Tap the bell on the Home screen to open a baby's reminders, then Add reminder. Choose an activity and either:

  • After last log — remind me a set number of hours, days or weeks after the last entry, or
  • Recurring — remind me at a repeating interval starting from a time you choose.

You can also pick a notification sound, turn vibration on or off, and enable Repeat until dismissed. Turn on This device only to keep a reminder from appearing on your other devices. Only Parents and caretakers can change reminders.

My reminders don't show up or arrive late

Android can restrict background apps to save battery. Please check:

  • Notifications are allowed for Eumi in your system settings.
  • Battery optimisation is set to Unrestricted (or “Don't optimise”) for Eumi — some manufacturers are especially aggressive about this.
  • Do Not Disturb or a focus mode isn't silencing the notification channel.
  • The reminder is switched on, and you signed in to the right account. Reminders stop when you sign out.

If it still doesn't work, email us with your phone model and Android version.

What home-screen widgets are available?

Long-press your home screen and open the widgets list to find Eumi's widgets: a general widget showing recent activity, a Quick Log widget with shortcuts for up to 4 activities you choose when you add it, and a compact widget for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip cover screen.

On the Quick Log widget, a timed activity such as sleep starts a timer on the first tap and shows the running time on the tile. Tap it again to open the log sheet with the timer still running. Breastfeeding and breast pump tiles open the app instead.

To change a widget's baby or activities, long-press it and choose Settings (or remove it and add it again). If a widget shows no data or says Tap to configure, open the app once, make sure you're signed in, and set it up again — this happens after a baby is removed or you sign out.

Your data & privacy

How do I back up or move my data?

Open Settings → Sharing. Export data saves all your babies, their activities and memories (including photos) to a file you choose. Import data reads such a file back in as a new copy. If you already have a baby with the same name, you'll be asked whether to override its data or merge the imported activities into it.

The backup file isn't encrypted, so keep it somewhere private. Very large backups can't be restored — if the app warns you, remove some memory photos and export again.

Using local mode and want to switch to an account? Sign in from Settings → Account and your data moves to the cloud.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open Settings → Account:

  • Delete My Data permanently deletes all babies you own, with their activities and memories, and resets your preferences. You'll be removed from babies others shared with you. Your account stays.
  • Delete Account does the same and also deletes your account.

This cannot be undone, so export your data first if you want to keep it. If you can't open the app, email us from the address on your account and we'll help.

What information does the app collect?

Please read our Privacy Policy for what we collect, how it is used, and your rights.

What is the “Daily intake goal” on the Home screen?

It shows a suggested daily milk range based on your baby's age and latest weight, using general NHS and AAP infant-feeding guidance. You can turn it off per baby in the Bottle activity settings. Spit up and vomit entries with an amount are subtracted from the day's total.

Not medical advice. Eumi is a logging tool. Its suggestions and charts are general references only — always follow your paediatrician's guidance and contact a medical professional if you are worried about your child's health.
